The layer story

The gold look. Sterling silver underneath.

Our gold and rose-gold vermeil uses a substantial 3-micron layer of gold over solid 925 sterling silver. It is the precious-metal middle ground between a thin plated wash and the price of solid gold.

What makes our vermeil special

Not all gold-coloured jewellery is built alike.

The surface may look similar on day one. The metal underneath and the thickness of the gold layer explain the difference in value.

Quality in plain English

Tiny layers make a very real difference.

01

A precious-metal core

Solid 925 sterling silver sits beneath the finish—never a mystery base metal hidden from view.

02

A substantial gold layer

Our 3-micron vermeil exceeds the 2.5-micron threshold generally used for gold vermeil.

03

Fewer, better choices

A focused collection lets us put the attention on material, finish and the details you will actually wear.

Good questions welcome

The material questions worth asking.

What does 3-micron vermeil mean?

It means the gold layer is three microns thick over a sterling silver core. That is thicker than the 2.5-micron threshold generally associated with vermeil and far more substantial than a light plated wash.

Is gold vermeil solid gold?

No. Gold vermeil is layered: gold on the outside and sterling silver underneath. Solid gold is gold throughout and is priced very differently.

How do I help the finish last?

Keep jewellery away from perfume, lotions and household chemicals; remove it for showers, swimming and workouts; then wipe it gently with a soft dry cloth before storing it separately.
