Jewellery care is mostly about reducing avoidable contact, residue and friction. Use these quick habits for sterling silver, vermeil and gemstone pieces, then check the product page for anything specific to your jewel.
Before and after wear
- Put jewellery on after perfume, lotions and hair products have settled.
- Remove it before showering, swimming, cleaning or exercise.
- Wipe the piece gently with a clean, soft, lint-free cloth after wear.
Clean gently
Start with a dry soft cloth. Avoid abrasive pads, dips and strong household cleaners, especially on vermeil or gemstone settings. If a piece needs more than a gentle wipe, contact us with the product link before using a cleaning solution.
Store pieces separately
Keep jewellery dry, away from direct sunlight and separated so chains, stones and metal surfaces do not rub against each other. Close chains before storing them to reduce tangles.
What changes with the material?
- Sterling silver: surface tarnish can develop naturally. A suitable soft silver cloth may help, but avoid rubbing plated areas with an abrasive silver cleaner.
- Gold and rose-gold vermeil: the finish is a layer over sterling silver, so minimise repeated water, chemical and friction exposure.
- Gemstones: stones and settings vary. Use the product’s material detail and ask before soaking or using any solution.
A note on wear
No plated finish has a universal lifespan. Skin contact, frequency of wear, climate, storage and care all make a difference. Our product pages state the known material construction so you can choose and care for each piece with the right context.
